Caroline Schmidt

Biography 

Caroline Schmidt was born in Hunan, China and raised in Seattle, WA and began her dance training at ARC School of Ballet. She attended summer courses at Ballet Austin, Walnut Hill School of the Arts, and ARC Summer Intensive.

In March 2020 Miss Schmidt received her BFA in Dance and BS in Kinesiology from Western Washington University working with artists Anya Cloud, Susan Haines, Pam Kuntz, and Penny Hutchinson. Her dance experience at Western has provided her with the opportunity to explore and perform a variety of dance styles and techniques including dancing on the WWU Hip Hop Dance Team for 3 years. 

Caroline was a recipient of the WWU Grant Scholarship for Motor Learning in Dance in 2019 and presented her findings at the WWU Scholars Week. She began her professional dance career with Bellingham Repertory Dance in 2019. As a company member for one year, Caroline worked with a range of individuals including Kim Lusk and Gina Bolles Sorensen & Kyle Sorensen. Caroline is now living in Seattle, WA as a freelance dancer exploring work with Karin Stevens Dance.
